We just returned from vacation in El Gouna.

There are fantastic all inclusive deals right now in Gouna and I would recommend the Panorama Bungalows Resort as it is fantastic.

Kidzania comes to EGYPT!!!!

KidZania - a land of the kids, by the kids, for the kids

The first international edutainment park for children, designed as a real city to provide the ultimate role playing opportunity for kids aged of 4-14 years old.

Image: kids role playing at KidZania

KidZania Cairo offers kids a variety of fun and interesting role-playing activities in a realistic city setting. Job activities such as doctor, firefighter, chef, or flight attendant are associated with real-world brands, allowing kids to create and learn with realistic results.

Kids in Grownup Roles
There are over 100 activities waiting for kids at KidZania Cairo. Each establishment offers activities with a range of difficulty levels to meet the abilities and interests of each kid. Pilots fly airplanes, Radio Station announcers read the news, police officers keep the city safe, chefs make tasty food. KidZania Cairo is a fun world of grownup role-play!

A Real Kid-Sized City!
KidZania is a city just for kids, complete with a hospital, fire station, beauty salon, bank, radio station and pizza shop. At two-thirds of their actual size, all facilities are designed to be just the right size for kids. After learning about a job they have chosen and being given a specific task, kids change into a real uniform and start working!

Work, Earn, Play!
Kids are paid for their work in KidZos, the official currency of KidZania. Recognized at every KidZania location throughout the world, KidZos are used to buy products and services. The more you work, the more you earn, the more you can play!

KidZania Economy

KidZania has its own currency: bank notes called “kidZos” and coins called “Zents”. KidZania citizens and tourists can use this money along with their debit card, known as e-kidZos, to pay for products and services in different locations inside the great nation of KidZania. Similarly, the citizens are paid for their work in kidZos as part of the supply and demand of the economy

Every time you get to KidZania will receive a check for 50 kidZos. Once inside, you must visit the bank and change your check for cash to purchase goods and products. For example, contract services as renting a car, get your hair done in the salon, heal a wound in the hospital or take classes or buy rappelling favorite items in the department store in KidZania. If you spend all kidZos or you want more, you can not buy with real money, you should seek employment and work for example as a firefighter, dentist, model, stylist or builder, among many trades and professions that exist within kidZos. There are places where you decide whether to spend or win kidZos.

For example, in the fire station can only earn money, while at the pizza shop you can only spend it. However, there are many places where you can do both, as in the hospital, where you can be a doctor and earn money or be patient and pay for you to attend. The prices of goods and products or services are different in each facility or activity. These rates may vary depending on the popularity of each in relation to others.

In KidZania we have a banking system itself where you can save and earn interest, get a debit card and do business in the bank branch or in the ATMs in the city.

You can open your personal savings account at any time of day during your stay in the city to deposit and save the money you've earned your work. When you open your savings account will receive a debit card that must be customized with your name and signature. With it you can check your balance or make withdrawals at the bank branch or any of the ATMs. And if you visit us for the second time and already have your debit card you deposited the 50 kidZos to your account, which you can get cash in the bank branch or ATM.

Car fines and fees by SMS

Drivers in Egypt can now find out what fines are pending on a car via text message on their mobile phones.

Egypt's Investment and Development Ministry is taking advantage of the massive diffusion of cell phones, which has cut across almost all segments of Egyptian society.
A person only has to send an SMS to 92333 with a car's license plate number. The driver will receive a message with the exact amount owed.
According to a ministry statement, this service will facilitate the car-trading processes since a buyer can get an honest account of what fines and fees are associated with the car they are considering purchasing.

Furthermore, this service will accelerate the car license renewals because users will be able to get the financial clearance certificate that proves they have a zero balance on traffic violations fees.

Amazing invention

4 African girls have created a generator that produces Electricity for 6 hours using a single liter of urine as fuel:

Four African girls have created a generator that produces electricity for six hours using a single liter of urine as fuel.
The generator was unveiled at last week's Maker Faire in Lagos, Nigeria, by the four teens Duro-Aina Adebola, Akindele Abiola, and Faleke Oluwatoyin, all age 14, and Bello Eniola, 15.
So how exactly does the urine-powered generator work?
  • Urine is put into an electrolytic cell, which separates out the hydrogen.
  • The hydrogen goes into a water filter for purification, which then gets pushed into the gas cylinder.
  • The gas cylinder pushes hydrogen into a cylinder of liquid borax, which is used to remove the moisture from the hydrogen gas.
  • This purified hydrogen gas is pushed into the generator.  Link

REMAL Foundation Suggests Having 7 Capitals Of Egypt

Published Sunday, 31 March 2013

Written by Mahmoud Hemdan

The Non-Governmental Organization REMAL Foundation (Amar Ya Masr) said it will be offering the Egyptian presidency within days its proposal that Egypt would have 7 capitals covering all the governorates.

The NGO REMAL Foundation’s proposal comes as a part of a large ambitious developmental project set up in coordination with some societal agencies.

REMAL’s proposal presents the idea of making Cairo city as the spiritual capital of Egypt; while Nefertari (located in the new Delta area) shall be the political capital of the state and Alexandria city to become the country’s capital of sciences.

For the fourth capital, REMAL has chosen south eastern area of Port Said so as to become Egypt’s capital for money and business.

The NGO foundation has further selected Luxor as the fifth capital of the country in charge of the international heritage. Sixthly, Oasis region is set to become Egypt’s technological capital. Seventhly and finally, REMAL has suggested Toshka to become the country’s capital of ecoagricultures.

Meanwhile, Ashraf Abdel Mohsen - Founder at AYM - Amar Ya Masr / REMAL Foundation, told Amwal Al Ghad that the upcoming period will witness discussions and presenting the national developmental project to a wide range of businessmen through their representative institutions, notably the International Business & Investment Association (IBIA).

The aim of the REMAL Foundation is to upraise Egypt by having new vision and dream for new Egypt after the 25 January revolution and to cooperate with regional coordinators to further promote our integrated solution and highlight the advantages of having a national vision in quality of urban life.

PAYPAL coming to Egypt

BEIRUT: PayPal will finally launch in Lebanon and Egypt in 2013, the general manager of the online payment gateway, Elias Ghanem, announced Thursday at the ArabNet conference.

Paypal is fully enabled – meaning buyers and sellers with locally issued bank accounts can do complete transactions – in the GCC and Jordan. In Yemen, Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria, customers can also open accounts to pay purveyors.

Though the prevalence of cash-on-delivery in the Middle East delayed the rollout of PayPal in the MENA region, the trend now appears to be shifting.
In an interview with ArabNet founder and CEO, Omar Christidis, Ghanem said that e-commerce in the MENA region was a $9 billion industry in 2012 and is projected to reach $15 billion by 2015.

Ownership banned in Suez Canal region project

A senior Egyptian official has said that a legal framework banning all property ownership in the Suez Canal region would be presented to the government with days.

Walid Abdel Ghaffar, an adviser to the transportation minister told Al-Masry Al-Youm that the new draft law, prepared by legal experts, bans all investors from land ownership, Egyptian and foreign, as the region will be under a usufruct system only.
Abdel Ghaffar also said that no property within the project area will be sold and that all land there will continue to be state property.

Investors will be able to rent land under the usufruct system, and all offers will be studied within the law, except those that infringe on national security.
He added that investors would be dealt with through a "one-window" system to avoid bureaucracy, and that the state would also establish a special body to manage the region's projects.

EMERGENCY Sinai Bedouin plea for HELP!!!

URGENT PLEA TO HELP EGYPTS BEDOUIN IN SINAI

Sinai Weekly

Community Foundation for South Sinai:

I have had to cancel my trip to Sinai as there has been catastrophic flooding in the last 48 hours. I'm told at least 40 people have lost their lives. Wadi Feiran has been practically washed away by a 3m wall of water travelling at 200Km per hour.
The road is completely blocked and impassable in both directions. The St Katherine area is thus effectively cut off; wells ruined, electric cables washed away, no gas cylinders left, all firewood wet, and it's been raining and/or snowing all day and is now -3. Many people have lost their homes. They need blankets, bedding and food.
We're approaching everyone who has given to us in the past in Egypt, to try to secure some immediate relief (Mohammed and Faraj can move small-scale supplies, even though it took Mohammed six hours to cross Wadi Feiran yesterday).
From here the best we can do right now is pray for everyone who is suffering in the cold. With Egypt racked by tension and the eyes of the international community on Syria, Mali etc, the plight of our Bedouin friends is unlikely to attract much attention - so if you care about Sinai and the Bedu, please help.
please contact Mohamed Gouda on 01224888018 he is organizing to send supplies
